How the Flawed Theory of Evolution Has Made Us Stupider
How the flawed theory of evolution has made us stupider. That's my title. Evolution has been pushed on us as Science, and the idea of simple to complex evolution as a natural occurrence has become our century's Alchemy, or, at least, one of them. But we still cling to Evolution like a mummified pet kept in the corner that we don't want to let go. Evolution never worked as Darwin's "horrid doubt" turned out to come true. Irreducible complexity abounds and the ubiquity of transitional species that Evolution prophesied never appeared; in fact, the opposite. Now we know DNA was front-loaded; creatures' ability to adapt and change dramatically was programmed in them from the beginning. Programmed, not evolved, or, to be more precise, Evolution is the result of the effect of programming.
But, like Meth-Heads, we are addicted to the Evolution myth as it pertains to everything. We drive through a small town we've never seen and assume it was never bigger. Because Evolution, everything always progresses forward it never goes backward. I was "taught" in junior high school that life began as a simple cell - a bubble of pond scum - that was struck by lightning and came alive, Frankenstein style. Total nonsense - it was debunked almost immediately back in the 50s - but was taught as a simplest explanation thesis in the late 70s. Evolution compulsion forced us to assume that the lowest possible beginning was the rule, because that's what always happens, doesn't it? Well, no.
Recently, there's been a meme war about the masterful architecture of the past having to have been made by aliens; everything from the Pyramids to Westminster Abbey. The reasoning is that those people couldn't have been that resourceful, you know, like we are (insert laughing emoji). Our architecture today is garbage in comparison. There are houses built in the 1950s AD are falling apart while two churches built by Gandalf the great builder from 1100 AD reopened to the public last year.
In short, just because our modern buildings turn into bulk trash at their first hurricane doesn't mean it had to be aliens who built the great edifices of the Middle Ages. Maybe, as Liberals might ponder, "The Universe" is calling on us to be better.
