I grew up in a far-left, liberal household. Pete Seeger’s classic, “Where Have All The Flowers Gone?”, was a favorite liberal hymn that I thought summed up the best of liberal intentions. There were many benefits of growing up liberal when you were born in 1964. You despised war, corruption, greed, abuse of any kind, and more. I am forever grateful that I grew up in a colorblind household. My parents were true liberals and followed the truths that Martin Luther King taught; live up to your creed that all are created equal and judged by the content of your character.

Liberals now pro-war? 

Today, liberalism has been turned upside down. In March, 2025, liberals are posting pro-war memes on their Facebook pages. “I stand with Ukraine!” which is to say, they support an endless war against Russia. This isn’t unfair to say after Ukraine’s leader refused to agree to end the war. The entire world saw Zelensky snatch the status quo out of the jaws of victory and peace. He openly admitted he wanted to continue the war and partner with the US to develop their mineral wealth. He had reportedly agreed to end the war in return for the mineral agreement, but revealed he still wanted to fight the war. 

Ukraine has wasted the lives of more young men than we lost in WW2 fighting for an idea. That idea is that Ukraine would be a member of NATO. Liberals were clearly behind President Kennedy in 1962 when Soviet missiles were discovered on our doorstep in Cuba. But the US under Biden and Ukraine under Zelensky are doing the same thing the Russians did in 1962 to spark the Cuban Missile Crisis, but doing it to the Russians. In an agreement that ended the Cold War, the US had Russia to agree to the reunification of Germany, and its membership in Nato, in return for a promise, NATO would not expand “one inch eastward”. The “neocons”, whom we now call the globalist cabal, pushed puppet politician President Bill Clinton to announce plans to expand NATO eastward all the way to the Russian border. While Russia backed down and respected our border in 1962, we’ve broken our promise and plopped right down on their border on 6 fronts: Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, and Finland. And now Ukraine, whose eastern region identifies more as Russian than Ukrainian.  

So, it’s 1962 in reverse with US as the bad guys. Europe insists on dying on the hill of Ukrainian NATO membership and perpetuating the forever, unnecessary Ukranian-Russian War. Would America’s best response not be to let the North Atlantic Treaty Organization die? That may be the silver lining here. The NATO alliance – and its sister dinosaur, the United Nations – have become obsolete and a threat to world peace.

Next, this lyric is literal in Ukraine. As Vice President Vance pointed out in the Oval Office kerfuffle, Ukraine doesn’t even have men to fight their war. Horrifying videos have surfaced from Ukraine of young men of fighting age being dragged along the ground and thrown into vans to be forced to fight at the front lines. The globalist Chat GPT AI defends this behavior in my queries, saying Zelensky has legalized military conscription, that dreaded draft the liberals vehemently – and AUTHENTICALLY - opposed in the 1960s. Liberals need to understand Pete Seeger’s prophesy here. It is literally coming true in Ukraine.  

Yet today’s liberals don’t want the war to end. Why? 

Have not the modern liberals evolved into something their liberal ancestors wouldn’t recognize? 

War hawks even if it means endless war in which the military industrial complex, greedy bankers, and corporations make untold millions from the destruction and the rebuild. Why? 

Feminists who defend men competing against women in women’s sports. Why? 

Women who claim murdering their own children is a civil right. Why? 

And, what about that "content of their character" thing? Today's liberals are being hyper-stereotyped by the color of their skin. DEI promotes the choosing of a black employee over a white one even if the white prospect has more qualifications. Why?

And, by extension, liberals vehemently oppose a man who is an AUTHENTIC holdover from the liberalism of my youth, the 45th and 47th President, Donald Trump. 

In Trump’s second term, 41 days in on March 2nd, we have these strange reactions from liberals. 

Protests of Trump’s use of a brilliant technical team to peel back the layers of fraud in our federal government, exposing trillions in misappropriated taxpayer funds that hid a shadow government operating above the law. People – so-called “conspiracy theorists” - sensed its existence, but Elon Musk’s DOGE team pulled up the receipts. This would have been the 1960s liberals’ greatest victory, greater than Cool Hand Luke escaping and living happily ever after in freedom. Liberals today scold it, arguing Musk is a billionaire looking at OUR personal information (false premise and Red Herring fallacies together).  

To summarize the lyric, young girls pick all the flowers, then go off with a husband who goes to war, dies, ends up in a graveyard, where they decorate their soldier's grave with flowers. It’s a loop that draws us to face the truth that our society is in a death spiral. It’s a protest song because the spiral comes not from us but from the strongholds in power over us.  You know, the same strongholds attacking Donald Trump because they have power over us and want to keep it that way.

Pete Seeger passed away on January 27, 2014 at 94. I think he’d be perplexed at this critical moment as the liberals in America choose to die on a hill opposing a true liberal named Donald Trump because they don’t like his nuances. Correct me, friends, family, if I’m wrong. I welcome the conversation.
